OPEN CALL ICAF 2020

SEND US YOUR TIPS AND PROPOSALS FOR NEXT ICAF!
From 25 through 29 March 2020 the next International Community Arts Festival will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The theme of ICAF-8 is ‘vision’.
This time we were inspired by the number 20/20 and its association with sharpness of eyesight, but also with a vision for the future of community arts and change of perspective.

CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE
How does community arts change our perspective on the world, on aesthetics, on ourselves as a community and as individuals?

GEOGRAPHICAL DIFFERENCES AND DIGITAL COMMUNITIES
In a world that is changing at such a mind-boggling pace what will be the role and form of community arts? Will it differ depending on where you live on earth? East? West? North? South? Countryside or metropole? How does it relate to the digital world and online communities?

ART DISCIPLINES
Also closely related to ‘vision’ are disciplines like visual arts, installations, video and photography and urban design, all of which we will be especially keen on programming (without disregarding the performing arts, of course).

BRINGING IN THE LOCAL CONTEXT
Finally, as an international festival that is much more than a showcase of best practices, we have always felt challenged to somehow transport to Rotterdam elements from the original context in which a particular project emerged. And we are intrigued by the different aesthetic visions all of you bring to our festival, which affect how you look at what we offer in our programme.

CONTACT US!
So if you have ideas, tips, or concrete proposals (preferably with audiovisual documentation and contextual information), please do not hesitate to contact us at info@icafrotterdam.com

We would like to receive your suggestions as soon as possible,
but no later than 30 November 2018.
